Many conservatives have come to the inescapable conclusion that there are two standards of justice in this country.
Leftist activists are allowed to loot and riot while conservatives go to prison for merely walking around at the Capitol.
But Ted Cruz just brilliantly exposed the evil double standard that the Biden administration has inflicted on the US justice system.
When it comes to matters of the law, there aren’t many who are more well-versed than Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
In a lengthy post on the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, Cruz made a solid case concerning different standards of treatment based on ideology.
1/x At least 88 crisis pregnancy centers have been firebombed, vandalized, or set ablaze in the wake of the Dobbs decision. DOJ’s response to this violence has been anemic, having only prosecuted one FACE Act case against these criminals.https://t.co/r5q2Ys0xch

Cruz pointed to a DOJ attorney who admitted this very thing was happening, and it was covered in an article in The Daily Signal.
Obvious preferential political treatment
Cruz said, “The Justice Department’s Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta said in December 2022 that the DOJ is targeting pro-life activists through the FACE Act as a response to the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Her remarks followed on the heels of Republican accusations that the DOJ is unduly targeting pro-life activists like Catholic father Mark Houck.”
But while the federal agency is aggressively pursuing peaceful pro-life demonstrators, there has been a decided lack of interest in going after violent pro-abortion criminals.
The difference is striking.
Cruz notes, “At least 88 crisis pregnancy centers have been firebombed, vandalized, or set ablaze in the wake of the Dobbs decision. DOJ’s response to this violence has been anemic, having only prosecuted one FACE Act case against these criminals.”
He continued, saying, “However, and in stark contrast, the DOJ has brought the entire weight and force of the FBI against those who engage in non-violent protest at abortion clinics. Yesterday, the DOJ convicted Lauren Handy and four other abortion protestors for engaging in non-violent protest. They now face 11 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $350,000. The DOJ has been aggressively targeting Handy since she and others blew the whistle on an abortion doctor in Washington D.C. who was engaging in illegal, late-term abortions.”
Cruz is convinced, and it’s easy to see why, that Attorney General Merrick Garland is purposely politicizing the Justice Department.
Cruz: Garland’s gotta go
With that being the case, he’s calling for bold action.
Cruz said, “When you compare how aggressively DOJ treats pro-life protesters like Lauren Handy and Mark Houck versus the hand-off approach it takes to those who vandalize churches and pregnancy centers, it’s obvious that Garland has politicized our justice system. He should resign.”
Cruz is far from the only Republican making calls for action against Garland.
In a July op-ed, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy called for investigations related to Garland’s dealings with a justice department case against Hunter Biden.
McCarthy wrote, “When a prosecutor shields his boss’s son from investigators, it smells like a cover-up. Garland’s DOJ did not aggressively follow the money. Why? Are they afraid of where that trail ends? Clearly, someone is not telling the truth, and Congress has a duty to get answers.”
