The Democrats have been trying for years to “get Trump” on the flimsiest of pretexts.
The latest move from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office reeks of political persecution.
Now Senator Rand Paul is calling for Soros-funded District Attorney Alvin Bragg to be jailed for his “disgusting abuse of power.”
Many Republicans are backing Trump in the wake of a rumored indictment amid what he calls “political prosecution” and “persecution.”
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) says that instead of indicting former President Donald Trump, Bragg should be held accountable and “put in jail.”
A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail.

The calls for accountability come as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continues to sound the alarm about “Soros-funded prosecutors” working to go after political opponents with trumped-up attacks while letting actual criminals skate.
DeSantis called out District Attorney Bragg, saying, “The Manhattan district attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor, so he, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, weaponize their office to impose a political agenda at the expense of the rule of law and public safety. He has downgraded over 50% of the felonies to misdemeanors. He says he doesn’t even want to have jail time for the vast majority of crime. So what we’ve seen in Manhattan is the crime rate go up and citizens become less safe. If you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction and he chooses to go back many, many years ago to use something about porn star hush-money payments, that’s an example of using a political agenda and weaponizing the office.”
DeSantis continued, saying, “And I think that’s fundamentally wrong. I also think it’s worth pointing out these Soros-funded prosecutors, yes, they may do a type of political prosecution and that’s bad, but the real victims are ordinary New Yorkers and ordinary Americans in various jurisdictions they get victimized every day because of the reckless political agenda these Soros-funded prosecutions bring to the job. These Soros-funded district attorneys are a menace to society.”
Sen. Paul has held Bragg in low esteem for some time.
Democrat DA allows a violent attack on a cop to go unpunished…https://t.co/48CqbKpqf4

In July 2022, Paul shared a news report on Bragg’s office’s decision to go easy on a 16-year-old with three prior felony arrests after the teen allegedly assaulted a police officer who confronted him for not paying his subway fare.
In a tweet about Bragg, Paul said, “Democrat DA allows a violent attack on a cop to go unpunished . . .”
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) have called Bragg’s plans to charge Trump “an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority.”
They are seeking to have him testify about “what plainly appears to be a politically motivated” prosecution of the ex commander-in-chief.
