And now this woke extremist Biden regime official was reportedly on a “secret taxpayer-funded trip” when he committed this insane crime.
A taxpayer-funded nationwide crime spree
Back in June 2022, the Biden regime made woke left-wing activist Sam Brinton the first “non-binary” individual to serve in federal government “leadership” when he was appointed as the deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposition at the Biden Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy.
But by December of that same year, Brinton was fired by the Biden DOE after he was twice criminally charged for stealing women’s luggage from airports.
In October, Brinton was charged with felony theft for stealing a woman’s suitcase from the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, ultimately leading to him facing charges of grand larceny after investigators matched his identity to that of an individual who had stolen another woman’s suitcase from the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas that July.
While Democrats and their media allies tried to sweep the matter under the rug, essentially taking the “out of sight, out of mind” approach after Brinton was fired, the story just won’t seem to go away.
And now, new details about the incident uncovered by a government watchdog group is putting Americans’ jaws on the floor.
According to a report from the Functional Government Initiative (FGI), when Brinton committed grand larceny at the Las Vegas airport in July 2022, he did so while on a taxpayer-funded trip.
“Brinton traveled in early July 2022 to the DOE-operated Nevada National Security Site near Las Vegas, according to internal Department of Energy (DOE) filings and expense reports obtained by watchdog group Functional Government Initiative (FGI) and shared with Fox News Digital,” Fox News reported. “Brinton flew on a United Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on July 6, 2022, the documents showed.”
“Months later, in early December, Las Vegas prosecutors charged Brinton with grand larceny of an item valued between $1,200 and $5,000,” the report continued. “Police accused Brinton of stealing a suitcase with a total estimated worth of $3,670 at Harry Reid International Airport on July 6, 2022, the same day Brinton traveled to Las Vegas on official DOE business. The stolen bag contained jewelry valued at $1,700, clothing worth $850 and makeup valued at $500.”
He was going where on taxpayers’ dime?
As FGI spokesperson Peter McGinnis told Fox News, this new wrinkle to the Brinton scandal means that working-class American taxpayers were essentially unwittingly forced to drive the woke extremists’ getaway car.
“It’s outrageous that tax dollars transported Brinton to and from the scene of a crime, putting the American public unwittingly at the wheel of the getaway car,” McGinnis said in a statement, according to Fox News.
“The federal government obviously needs a more stringent vetting process for senior-level positions,” he added. “Senior officials committing petty crime while on the clock is a clear indication that something is dysfunctional in the personnel procedures.”
The absurdity of McGinnis’ claim that felony theft and grand larceny are simply “petty crime” aside, the whole ordeal gets even more serious when you learn what exactly Brinton was up to on this taxpayer-funded trip.
Based on the documents obtained by FGI, Brinton was traveling to an “unspecified meeting and site visit” at the Nevada National Security Site, which the DOE described as “a preferred location for experiments supporting the National Nuclear Security Administration’s nuclear weapons Stockpile Stewardship Programs, national defense programs, and national security research, development and training programs, as well as vital programs of other federal agencies.”
That’s right – the Biden regime sent a deranged criminal who was in the process of going on a nationwide crime spree to one of America’s most sensitive nuclear weapons sites.
