The Squad’s Cori Bush was just fact-checked for celebrating this criminal

Aug 11, 2023

The House Democrat’s Squad are no strangers to spewing lies on social media.

And for years they got away with it without any repercussions.

But now Democrat Rep. Cori Bush of St. Louis has just been fact-checked for celebrating the anniversary of the passing of this criminal.

Misinformation and disinformation from the Left

This week marked the ninth anniversary of one of the founding moments of the Black Lives Matter movement that has been so damaging to American society.

Radical leftist Rep. Cori Bush of St. Louis took to Twitter to use the anniversary to knock her home country as systemically racist.

The two-term Congresswoman who has aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America tweeted out lies about the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, a dangerous St. Louis suburb, back in 2014.

It’s no coincidence that the Squad member included Brown’s high school graduation picture to gain sympathy in this tweet.

“Today is the 9th anniversary of Mike Brown’s killing,” Rep. Bush tweeted. “He would be alive today if the institutions of racism and white supremacy were eradicated. He should be alive today. We will never forget. We will continue to fight for justice and accountability.”

Cori Bush gets fact-checked

However, Bush’s post was at the very least misleading – if not an outright lie.

And Twitter users were quick to point this out.

In fact, her tweet was fact-checked with a community note using information directly from the left-wing Justice Department, which agrees with Bush’s false narrative about the systemic racism of America.

“The US DOJ concluded, based on the available evidence, that officer Darren Wilson acted lawfully” the community note reads. “And that the evidence and witness statements do not corroborate allegations of any wrongdoing in this case.”

OutKick’s Clay Travis – who also, along with Buck Sexton, took over the old Rush Limbaugh time slot on AM radio – weighed in on Bush’s virtue signaling tweet and the accompanying fact-check.

“The fact check here is phenomenal,” Travis tweeted. “This is what actual fact checking should look like. Nice job implementing this, Elon Musk.”

The real story

Here’s what really went down in Ferguson, Missouri, on August 9, 2014.

Spoiler alert, “hands up, don’t shoot” never happened, no matter what Rep. Bush and her friends in the media try to tell you.

Michael Brown robbed a convenience store.

The 6’4”, nearly 300-pound man then beat up the shop worker.

Then, instead of putting his hands up and saying, “Don’t shoot,” Brown struggled with the responding officer, Darren Wilson, and even attempted to grab his gun.

With his own life now in danger, Wilson shot and, unfortunately, fatally wounded Brown.

Black Lives Matter rioted and destroyed the city and other cities throughout the country, spreading the “hands up, don’t shoot” lie.

They did so again when a grand jury found Officer Wilson not guilty.

No matter what Rep. Bush tweets, that grand jury, a federal DOJ investigation, and even a black Democrat prosecutor from St. Louis all independently investigated the incident and found Wilson acted appropriately.

So, it’s not white supremacy, or systemic racism, or racist cops that killed Michael Brown.

Michael Brown would still be alive today if he hadn’t robbed a store, beat the clerk, resisted arrest, and tried to grab the cop’s gun.

Nothing to do with skin color – and thanks to Twitter’s community notes, Rep. Bush can no longer claim she doesn’t know it.
