When is enough finally enough?
That’s the question many professional football fans are asking these days in the wake of this pop culture icon sucking all the oxygen out of the room.
Now Dave Portnoy just dropped some truth bombs about Taylor Swift and the NFL’s behaving like little fan girls every time she shows up at a game.
Barstool Sports Podcaster Dave Portnoy has decided to weigh in on the Taylor-mania that is infiltrating sports media, and he’s made it clear that he stands in opposition.
The latest gossip is that Swift is allegedly dating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce.
Adding credence to the rumors, she has attended two Chiefs games in a row.
Where Swift goes, so too do the Swifties.
Many of them tend to follow along like lemmings, and some have been tuning in to watch the NFL in hopes of catching a glimpse of their favorite singer.
Perhaps sensing a new business opportunity, the NFL is like a pig in the mud at the recent turn of events, to the consternation of many long-time fans.
Portnoy called the league out on it.
Portnoy: “This is nuts!”
On the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, he wrote, “This is nuts,” Portnoy wrote on X. The NFL is simping for Taylor.”

It’s hard to disagree with this assessment, as she seems to be everywhere.
In fact, the NFL showed the singer at least 17 times on air during the game.
After the Chiefs bested the Jets, the NFL posted, “The @Chiefs are now 2-0 with @TaylorSwift13 in attendance.”
Smack dab in the middle of the video was Swift in the stands.

Portnoy saw many people agree with his sentiment on social media.
User Rose wrote, “It’s so disgusting,” and Gang Green Dmac wrote, “So annoying. People would care less if Tupac rose from his grave and went to the game.”
It appears that the sense of Taylor overload is shared by many, especially given how frequently her mug has been plastered everywhere on various media outlets.
Some long-time NFL fans are furious at the Taylor take-over, believing that the frequent cutaways to the singer during the coverage is ‘destroying football’.
Fox News host Tomi Lahren wrote: “The wall-to-wall coverage of Taylor Swift at this game is annoying AF. I don’t even like football, and I agree that it’s destroying football. Just enough.”
Joe Pompliano wrote, “The broadcast is showing Taylor Swift immediately after the Chiefs score, and she is hugging people to celebrate an ISIAH PACHECO touchdown. This is already getting ridiculous 🤣🤣.”

NBC also has gotten caught up in the drama of the alleged relationship between Swift and Kelce.
The network included a shot of the pop superstar with her arm around Kelce’s mother, Donna, who was wearing her son’s No. 87 jersey.
Portnoy didn’t limit his ire to Swift.
He also called out actress Blake Lively.
Portnoy contends that Lively doesn’t genuinely care about the Chiefs but is only enthusiastic because she was invited to the game by Taylor Swift.
He wrote, “Facts. Blake Lively out here cheering for the Chiefs like she grew up in Overland Park, Missouri.”

One thing is certain: for those looking to get a break from the constant bombardment of pop culture, the NFL isn’t the place to turn.
