Elon Musk deserves the thanks of freedom-lovers the world over for the commitment he’s made to preserving freedom of speech with Twitter.
And he certainly gets bonus points for exposing the collusion between government and Big Tech to silence those who questioned their official narrative through the Twitter Files.
But now Elon Musk has hired a new Twitter CEO, and his choice has many freedom-loving Americans very nervous.
Musk makes his choice
Immediately after Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk completed his purchase of Twitter, Democrat propaganda pushed by the media led many woke corporations to make the decision to pause, or outright end, their marketing efforts on the platform.
Considering the perilous financial position Twitter was already in prior to Musk purchasing the company, such an effort threatened the company’s survival before the world’s top entrepreneur even had a chance to turn things around.
Around that same time, Democrat astroturfing campaigns given credence by self-proclaimed “journalists” began pressuring Musk to install someone other than himself as Twitter’s CEO.
Of course, the world’s richest man likely always intended to have someone else run Twitter’s day-to-day business operations, as he’s repeatedly voiced his desire to never be the CEO of the companies he owns so he can focus on engineering, technology, and product development.
After all, while he holds the title of CEO at both SpaceX and Tesla – mainly due to past bad experiences with a former Tesla CEO whose actions threatened the survival of the company – SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell and Tesla Chief Financial Officer Zach Kirkhorn, are known to have been given the reins of those respective powerhouse companies by Musk years ago.
So now, that day has finally come for Twitter.
On Thursday, Musk teased that he had “hired a new CEO for X/Twitter” – X being the brand he wants Twitter to become as “the everything app” – who would take over business operations within six weeks, while he transitioned to mainly focusing on product, software, and system operations.
Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!
My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.

News quickly leaked, though, that Musk’s choice for Twitter CEO was a controversial one – especially considering how he’s railed against the media – NBCUniversal advertising chief, Linda Yaccarino.
How does this make sense?
Obviously, the selection of Yaccarino, a lifelong media advertising executive, didn’t quite fit the vision of a new Twitter that Musk had previously proselytized to anyone who would listen.
But on Friday morning, Musk confirmed his hiring, reiterating that the former NBCUniversal executive would “focus primarily on business operations,” while he focuses on “product design & new technology.”
“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” Musk tweeted. “@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology. Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.”
Nevertheless, if you’re sitting in Musk’s seat, it’s likely that this selection makes all the sense in the world.
For starters, when picking someone to run a multi-billion dollar company you personally risked not only much of your own fortune, but also your control over Tesla, in order to acquire, there’s going to be a small pool of candidates with the prerequisite experience and skills from which to choose from.
Add on the fact that the pool of candidates gets even smaller when it comes down to who would be willing to be shunned by their ruling class elites friends to be associated with Elon Musk, and it becomes an even greater challenge.
Furthermore, as previously mentioned, one of the biggest hurdles Musk has faced thus far with Twitter is convincing corporate executives not to pull their ad dollars – which thanks to old Twitter’s leadership, could threaten the very survival of the platform – over Democrat propaganda.
And quite frankly, seeing as how most corporations these days are controlled by woke executives, they’re not exactly going to take Musk’s word at face value.
However, if he hired the one media advertising executive who has reportedly quietly been cheering Musk’s efforts on and recently brought him to a massive advertising conference she hosts each year in order to give him a glowing interview that allowed him to speak directly to corporate decision makers to make his case, he could potentially thread a previously unthreadable needle.
Nevertheless, Yaccarino has spent her entire career in the belly of the media beast.
And she’s coming to Twitter after more than a decade at NBCUniversal, the same company that owns NBC News and MSNBC, so freedom-loving Americans are undoubtedly right to be wary of her hiring.
All Americans, especially those who utilize Twitter, would be wise to closely monitor every decision she makes moving forward as Twitter’s CEO – that’s a given.
But as long as Musk is in control of Twitter’s product and technology – which includes everything from “content moderation” to the programs that allow creators like Tucker Carlson to earn significantly more revenue on Twitter than YouTube and other platforms without fear of being silenced or banned – the person who decides which accounting format the company uses or whether employees get two or three weeks of paid time off shouldn’t matter much.
As President Ronald Reagan once said, “Trust, but verify.”
