Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk just made a move that has Democrats and the media throwing an absolute fit

May 12, 2023

Democrats and their self-proclaimed “journalist” allies are undoubtedly unhinged as it is, but when Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson are thrown into the mix, they lose what’s left of their minds.

But what would the reaction be if the pair ever teamed up in the name of free speech and defeating the woke virus infecting society?

Guess we’ll just have to find out because Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk just made a move that has Democrats and the media throwing an absolute fit.

It started with a conversation

Since Fox News announced that it had “parted ways” with the most influential personality in traditional media, Tucker Carlson, the media rumor mill has been working overtime.

Self-proclaimed “journalists,” political commentators, and the rest of the talking heads have all engaged in endless speculation over what Carlson may do next.

Fox News executives have made clear that they’ll happily pay out the remainder of Carlson’s contract to keep him sidelined through the 2024 election.

But considering the fact that the network’s viewership has plummeted since its decision to ax the host, dropping Fox News to what was previously an unfathomable third place position overall in the ratings, it’s also entirely possible that executives decided it would be wise to just take one on the chin and strike a deal with the host soon in the hopes it will ease tensions with their viewers.

Nevertheless, with so much uncertainty swirling around, the media has taken the approach of throwing every report against the wall they can possibly come up with to see what sticks, literally publishing every rumor, anonymous source, and unverified claim imaginable to both hurt Carlson and increase the click rate on their posts.

Buried within one of those reports, though, was a key detail many people overlooked.

On Sunday, Axios released a report in which the reporter included what appeared to be a throwaway line, claiming that the outlet had learned that Carlson and Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter CEO Elon Musk “had a conversation about working together, but didn’t discuss specifics.”

However, it’s now very likely that we know some of those specifics two of the most influential people in America today discussed.

“Soon”

Late Tuesday afternoon, Carlson made just his second public comment since his ousting on April 21, posting a video to Twitter with the caption, “We’re back.”

Carlson began the video by detailing the state of the media, explaining that while much of the news is “true in the literal sense,” self-proclaimed journalists often intentionally leave out important context to manipulate stories to fit their predetermined narratives.

But he also explained that much of that is a result of what the media system ruling class elites have established, saying that “the best you can hope for in the news business at this point is the freedom to tell the fullest truth that you can.”

And according to Carlson, of all the platforms in the country, Twitter under Musk is “the last big one remaining” that allows free speech.

“Amazingly, as of tonight, there aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech,” Carlson explained. “The last big one remaining in the world – the only one – is Twitter, where we are now. Twitter has long served as the place where our national conversation incubates and develops. Twitter is not a partisan site. Everybody is allowed here, and we think that’s a good thing.”

“And yet, for the most part, the news that you see analyzed on Twitter comes from media organizations that are themselves thinly disguised propaganda outlets,” he added. “You see it on cable news, you talk about it on Twitter. The result may feel like a debate, but actually, the gatekeepers are still in charge. We think that’s a bad system. We know exactly how it works, and we’re sick of it.”

As a result, Carlson announced that he will “soon” begin broadcasting a new version of his traditional show on Twitter.

“Starting soon, we will be doing a new version of the show we’ve been doing for six-and-a-half years to Twitter,” Carlson proclaimed, although he didn’t clarify what exactly “soon” means. “We’ll bring some other things too, which we’ll tell you about. But for now, we’re just grateful to be here.”

“Free speech is the main right that you have,” he said in closing. “Without it, you have no others. See you soon.”

Musk has previously voiced his desire for Twitter to become a top platform of choice for “creators,” like podcasters, YouTubers, and writers, engaging with popular online personalities like MrBeast in an effort to learn how the platform can be a more attractive option for their businesses.

Now, he has one of the most influential figures in media driving his audience to Twitter, while Carlson not only gets to enjoy the benefits of the new monetization features Musk has now made available to “creators” on the platform but also controls his own content and destiny.

And best of all, with Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk now essentially on the same team, there’s no doubt Democrats and their media allies are throwing an absolute fit.
