Barack Obama is reported as saying, “If you want something really messed up, let Joe [Biden] do it.”
Obama’s words seem almost prophetic today.
Biden has had a record-breaking performance, but not the good kind, and it could cost him next year.
Joe Biden’s border crisis
Even with Democrats doing all they could to block the bulk of his border-hawk policies, then-President Donald Trump was able to mitigate the vast illegal immigration problem his predecessor, Barack Obama, created.
However, it didn’t take long for Obama’s former Vice President to erase all the good work Trump did during his one term in the White House.
Now with President Joe Biden leading America’s version of the Night Watch, and with his so-called “Border Czar” Vice President Kamala Harris by his side, the problem on the U.S. southern border has turned into a crisis of epic proportions.
Each month hundreds of thousands of migrants flood into the United States illegally.
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, these illegal aliens are costing American workers more than $150 billion annually.
And there’s no slowing of the floodgates in sight.
In fact, President Biden keeps on breaking embarrassing records he previously broke.
Biden breaks another bad record
September was another record-breaking month for illegals crossing over into the interior of the United States.
The Daily Caller News Foundation has obtained information showing last month border patrol officers had nearly 220,000 encounters with illegals across the southern border.
That’s the highest total for the month of September since the data began being tracked.
It defeats the old record of about 207,000 illegal crossings in September of last year, again, under the not-so-watchful eye of President Biden.
September also marks the end of the fiscal year.
From last September to this one, more than 2 million immigrants have illegally invaded America.
To put that number in perspective, that’s about the same as the entire population of New Mexico.
All eyes will be on the border in 2024
The crisis on the U.S. southern border could prove to be the undoing of President Biden and potentially keep him from a second term in the White House.
Poll after poll shows illegal immigration is one of the top concerns of voters, and that Americans did not approve of the Biden Administration’s record handling of the border.
In fact, data from Civic Science, updated as recently as last week, shows 46% of Americans cite illegal immigration as one of their top three most important issues heading into the 2024 election cycle.
Illegal immigration ranked second, only one point behind “effectiveness of Congress and its ability to pass legislation.”
And it’s important to note that the data was collected while concerns of a government shutdown were dominating the news.
