Most Americans don’t want Joe Biden to run again. Whether it’s because of his poor performance, Hunter’s influence peddling, poor mental health, or his rapidly evident aging, polls show voters don’t think he is up for the job . . .
But none of this is stopping the President and the Democrat machine from running for four more years.
And one Democrat is refusing to sit by while looking at the reality being exposed in the polls, and Biden is getting nervous.
Are Democrats rigging another election?
The Democrat National Committee has announced it will not be holding Primary debates in 2024 for the Presidential election.
They’ve also rearranged the Primary schedule to frontload states where the sitting President of the United States is likely to perform well.
Both moves were done in an attempt to ensure President Joe Biden isn’t damaged on the path to the General election.
Biden did have one credible Primary opponent with a different perspective from the incumbent on a few important issues.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has announced his candidacy and was polling as high as 20% in the Primary at one point.
However, when it became clear the Democrat Party has no intentions on hosting a real Primary, RFK Jr. switched to an independent bid for the White House, now running as a third-party candidate.
However, Biden doesn’t have a free skate all the way to the General, as a new Primary opponent has just entered the field.
Who is Rep. Dean Phillips?
Democrat Rep. Dean Phillips has announced he will Primary President Biden in the 2024 race for the White House.
With three Democratic primary challengers already in the race, the @NYTimes poll shows 55% of Democrats and 83% of those under 30 are demanding alternatives. We can’t ignore the numbers. And if @JoeBiden is our nominee, I’ll be all-in to Go with Joe! 🇺🇸 https://t.co/P1V4L2KuZt

Phillips cited voters’ want for more options as his reason for running.
“With three Democratic primary challengers already in the race, the @NYTimes poll shows 55% of Democrats and 83% of those under 30 are demanding alternatives,” Phillips tweeted. “We can’t ignore the numbers.”
Phillips is only 54 years old, so it is no surprise he highlighted Biden’s struggles with younger voters.
The Congressman represents the Minneapolis suburbs but is a relative newcomer to be running for such a high position, having only first been elected in 2018.
Because he represents a former republican stronghold that has gone blue in recent years, Phillips campaigns as a centrist, however he doesn’t act that way in Congress.
According to Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight, Phillips has voted with Biden 100% of the time.
Phillips is Jewish, but has not mentioned Biden’s weak response to the terrorist attacks against Israel as a factor in his decision to run against his party’s standard bearer.
I’m grateful for President Biden, an American hero who deserves to be honored as such. But polling, focus groups, and intuition are all screaming he’s at high risk of undoing his greatest achievement – which was stopping Donald Trump (h/t @IgnatiusPost). But it’s not too late. https://t.co/Jdii3ZEqCH

In an interview with CNN, Phillips said Biden’s biggest accomplishment was “stopping Donald Trump,” but he’s afraid Biden will lose the potential rematch next year.
And he’s already announced that if Biden, who remains the heavy favorite to be the Democrat nominee for the White House in 2024, does indeed win the Primary, he will support the President.
“If Joe Biden is our nominee, I’ll be all-in to Go with Joe,” Phillips tweeted.
Meet the cast of characters who want to be the Democrat nominee
Phillips isn’t the only Democrat trying to replace Biden at the top of the party’s 2024 ticket.
There’s a whole host of colorful characters in the running.
Radical activist Marianne Williamson is running again – you may remember her from, well, nothing other than her 2020 Presidential campaign that failed to gain any traction whatsoever.
Young Turks founder and host Cenk Uygur has announced his bid despite not being constitutionally eligible for the position, and it being illegal for him to raise money for a position he can’t legally hold.
Then there’s the Tiger King.
Yes, Joe Exotic is once again running for the White House.
And unlike 2016 when he ran as an independent or 2020 when he ran as a Libertarian, this time the tiger-killing convicted criminal is running under the Democrat banner.
And finally, there’s Terrisa Bukovinac, who is something of a unicorn.
She’s a Democrat from San Francisco who may be most known for being pro-Life and actively fighting against abortions.
However, even if the party hadn’t done everything in its power to make sure Biden’s opponents don’t get a fair shake, it is unlikely any of these wild card candidates would have resonated with enough voters to make a difference.
